Super Scope
The Super Scope is, when seen in-game, a type of gun, and, in the Real World, a peripheral for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The weapon was used in the game Yoshi's Safari, which also used the actual Super Scope peripheral; they also cameo as an in-game item used by Sniper Bills in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
It is featured as an item in Super Smash Bros. Melee. A player can shoot energy balls at opponents, either in dozens of small bullets or three huge charged up shots. When a player repeatedly shoots small blasts in a line, the opponent will be unable to move away when hit. It will return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but this time players will be able to walk and even jump, while firing the item.
The devo-guns used to cause De-Evolution from the Super Mario Bros. movie are also quite obviously designed after Super Scopes.
Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Melee
A peripheral device for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the Super Scope is a wireless weapon that shoots infrared light to a receiver placed on top of the television. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it can be fired rapidly or charged up to release a more powerful blast. It only has enough energy for 3 charge shots.
Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Brawl
A bazooka-shaped peripheral for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System that was used wirelessly with an infrared sensor placed on top of the television. In Smash Bros., it can be fired rapidly or charged up. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, you could not move while shooting it, but in this game, you can move and jump while blasting!
Infinite Super Scope (Glitch)
- There is a in-game glitch to get an infinite super scope that will never run out of bullets. It is obtained by shooting 5 small shots then 2 charged shots and during charging of the third shot the player must get hit, that will result in an infinite super scope. If the player throws the scope than it will disappear (only works in Melee).
