Coin Area
Coin Area
Purpose Gives the player a random number of coins
First appearance Mario Party 8 (2007)

Coin Areas appear in Mario Party 8. They only appear in Star Battle Arena (or Duel Battle in the Party Tent). They appear on every board, and they are bricks that usually appear in set locations. Due to the randomized nature of King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, they can appear in any room on that board. Unlike Hidden Blocks from some other Mario Party games, Coin Areas are always visible. When a player passes through a Coin Area, a Dice Block will roll and the number the character gets is the number of coins they receive. Players can earn 1, 5 or 10 coins from a Coin Area. If a player reaches Captain Goomba with fewer than 50 coins, he allows them to roll a coin block identical to the one encountered at Coin Areas, before ordering the Pirate Goombas to send them back to the start.
