Spike Zok Troopers are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are members of Zokket's army. Spike Zok Troopers are found in many locations in the game, such as Lottacoins Island, Color-Full Sea Great Lighthouse Island, Brrrning Sea Great Lighthouse Island and Fortress Zokket. In the overworld, they charge at Mario and Luigi if they are near. These enemies are red in color and possess a spike on one of their arms.
Late on in the game, Spike Zok Troopers become infected with Glohm, making them Glohm Spike Zok Troopers.
Battle
In battle, Spike Zok Troopers raise their pointy arm upwards when they are at half HP or less, protecting them against jump attacks. They have two standard attacks, but depending on what other enemies are with them, they can gain three more attacks:
- By themselves, Spike Zok Troopers can get in front of Mario or Luigi and prepare to charge at them. They lean back and forth before their arm glows on the third one, signaling their charge. The speed of this attack varies, and the attacking Spike Zok Trooper must be counterattacked with the hammer.
- When alone, they can also charge at a character multiple times, with their spiky arm raised upwards. On their last charge, the Spike Zok Trooper lowers their arm and charges faster. The amount of charges varies, and this attack must be avoided by jumping, but landing on the spike will damage Mario or Luigi. The attacking enemy can be countered on their last charge.
- If a Zokkarang Trooper is also in the battle, both enemies will get in front of Mario and Luigi. Afterwards, both of them will throw their weapons at the same time. The Spike Zok Trooper throws their spike directly at a bro, while the Zokkarang Trooper throws their Zokkarang in an arc. Both projectiles must be defended against with the hammer, and countering them will send them right back at the attackers.
- If a Ring Zok Trooper is present, the Ring Zok Trooper can create a big ring, which the Spike Zok Trooper uses to push to a character. This attack is avoided by jumping. The Spike Zok Trooper can be countered. Sometimes during the attack, the Spike Zok Trooper stops and moves to the other character before charging at them.
- If a Jet Zok Trooper is around, both the Spike Zok Trooper and Jet Zok Trooper will line up at one location before they charge in the direction of Mario and Luigi, one at a time. The Spike Zok Trooper rushes across the ground, while the Jet Zok Trooper flies through the air. Whoever goes first is randomly decided, and the attack is dodged by jumping. Landing on the enemies will damage them, but the Bros. might get hit by the Jet Zok Trooper if the Spike Zok Trooper goes first.
Spike Zok Troopers also appear after Weeping Troopers are defeated. They walk off the screen afterwards.
