The untitled follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie is an upcoming theatrical animated film and the fourth feature film in the Super Mario franchise. Like its predecessor, it is produced by Nintendo in collaboration with Universal Pictures and Illumination and co-produced by Super Mario franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination co-founder Chris Meledandri. It was announced on March 10, 2024 (on Mario Day), and is set to be released on April 3, 2026, in many regions, including the United States, with other release dates in April 2026 for some regions.[3] It is yet to be officially confirmed whether the film is a direct sequel or a spin-off to The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
