Basket of apples

A basket of apples appears as an item in Dinosaur Dilemma. If Mario is chosen to look for food instead of Luigi, Mario collects the apples from some nearby waist-high trees. He then notices Yoshi and some other dinosaurs in the distance and takes the apples with him. As it turns out, the basket of apples is a trap: If Mario has the apples, the dinosaurs remove their disguises to reveal that they were actually Mega Moles the entire time, and they promptly eat him. Mario survives the encounter only if he does not have the basket of apples, requiring sending Luigi to search for food rather than Mario.
