Ice[edit]

I'm really iffy on calling the crystals in this cave ice just because NP says they are. They're not slippery, indicating that they're not ice, and most of the cave is just gray rock. The guide writer(s) probably just assumed it was ice because it's light blue and there are ice structures found here that serve as sub-areas. Let's not forget that they've called Thwomps "Thwomp Traps" before.

EDIT: OK, I went and ran around in the igloo and ice castle for a bit, and the ice floors in there aren't slippery either, so I guess ice just isn't slippery in this game. However, I did notice something else: those ice floors show the Kong's reflection, while the blue crystalline patches of floor in the cave do not, so I'm still inclined to believe it's not ice. The music has some hints on the cave being wet and does suggest ice, but it's not an explicit referral? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 18:24, July 8, 2022 (EDT)
You mean the dripping? That's just common cave ambience. The cave themes from the original DKC and the GBA version of DKC3 also have dripping built into them, and those cave levels don't have a hint of ice in them. Dark BonesSig.png 20:07, July 8, 2022 (EDT)
I know, that's why I said it's not explicit, but imo it could lend supporting credence to people believing it was made of ice. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:27, July 8, 2022 (EDT)
