I just got done making pages for all these things, but I'm having second thoughts on whether they need to be covered on their own. My reasoning for giving them pages was that Mario Kart Tour actually integrates them into the gameplay rather than only using them as parts of the scenery like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and they're linked to specific gameplay actions like so many other things in that game. However, pretty much their entire role in MKT is to give you some extra points if you hit them with an item; I otherwise noticed no substantial gameplay differences between the three objects during my playthroughs. At least something like Walking Tree and Music Bash, by virtue of being sentient enemies, had reasons to be afforded pages even before they were seen outside their original courses, but the, uh, Squeaky Clean Sprint triumvirate is basically a set of glorified props that aren't even consistently gameplay-relevant. Given their status as one-offs elements specific to this course (and some of its variants), I was wondering whether anyone would object to having their properties simply noted in this article's Mario Kart Tour section. If the organization of their non-English names is a concern, I think they can be noted in dedicated subsections in this article's "Names in other languages" section, akin to how Ninja Manor's names are listed in the Ninja Hideaway article.
I'm excluding Beach Ball from the topic because this subject appeared in previous Mario games and there was already an article for that. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 14:00, August 11, 2024 (EDT)
- I think it's fair to keep these pages seperate considering we have pages for a LOT of stupid stuff just because you can interact with them in some games. BiggestMan 13:36, September 2, 2024 (EDT)
- I see no reason to merge these pages, there are many pages on this wiki that are of enemies, assets, objects, etc. that are unique to one level. there is zero reason to put them on this article, since this article is for info about the course, not objects in the course. merging them would bloat this article with info not about the subject. - YoYo (Talk) 11:54, September 21, 2024 (EDT)
- IMO this is an extension of the logic used to split walking tree: if walking tree gets a page, if the raving Piranha Plant gets a page, the rubber duck gets one. To be consistent, you either merge that tree back to the article if you're going to do rubber duck or you make articles. Sentience really isn't relevant since we do give one-off obstacles articles such as Ceiling Needle, Jar (Mario Kart series), and others, which you can dispute. It seems like the bar is set at "does it influence gameplay" and it's stretched really thin, but yes it does in Mario Kart Tour. You can instead require "recurring" and "named" as key points (it's a great reason for Falling Pillar having its own page as it appears in several courses). It's why I opposed Walking Tree and Music Bash (prior to Live Circuit) getting articles if they're not really named and appear to be a part of the course they're in (so their articles are just duplicated from information in the course pages). It's another story if something like Music Bash appears outside of Music Park (which it did in Live Circuit; this would make me support an individual page). It's me, Mario!
