Yoshi18 has been blocked three months from editing the Super Mario Wiki for edit warring and adding speculation. See the block log and block time remaining. |
RE: Table Menace
Please verify with the user before adding the same information to the page multiple times after it's been reverted, otherwise this counts as edit-warring and a warning will be issued. The font itself (colour aside) has been used several times in different styles throughout the series (including MP8's Dice Blocks), and this minigame using the same colour as another time it was used is likely a coincidence, so this information isn't worth noting.
Also, please make sure you don't duplicate text on the article, and remember to italicise game titles. Mario JC 07:24, August 4, 2023 (EDT)

"You"s
You were already reminded about not using "you"s and using "the player" or the character's name. Please follow this rule. Also, if you want to add an image, you need to upload it first. Mario JC 09:24, August 5, 2023 (EDT)
Another thing, remember to sign your comments by typing ~~~~ at the end, and place your comments at the bottom of the talk page, not the top. Mario JC 09:29, August 5, 2023 (EDT)

Block
I didn’t use ‘you’ in anything I edited so far, so why do I need to be blocked
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yoshi18 (talk).
- You did multiple times since my last reminder (prior to which this happened several times, both through this account and anonymously) before they were corrected (1, 2, 3), and again (4) even after you were issued another warning (which was redundant since you were already on a last warning). Mario JC 11:04, August 11, 2023 (EDT)
Can I get unblocked
- Please, give me one more chance, or please make the block shorter, I learned my lesson and the block is so long that when I get unblocked; the vacation is almost over. So please can I get unblocked and can you give me one more chance or please can you block me for a shorter time. I really like the Mario wiki and editing it. I try to make corrections and add things to the Mario wiki as many times as possible. User:Yoshi18/sig
- First of all, you were reminded already that you need to sign your comments in talk pages. Nightwicked Bowser 18:50, August 11, 2023 (EDT)

Italics
Hello, Yoshi18! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out Super Mario Bros. generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |
Mario JC 21:50, August 27, 2023 (EDT)
Please follow this reminder when writing game titles. Mario JC 08:53, September 4, 2023 (EDT)
Yeah, I will Yoshi18 (talk) 09:00, September 4, 2023 (EDT)
PAL song names
Where did you get those PAL version song names for Mario Party 3 from? It's been pointed out that the names are the same regardless of region. Mario JC 01:06, August 29, 2023 (EDT)
I found them from a video were a guy shows the minigames that, that music uses and in his video’s description; he tells the PAL name for the Mario Party 3 songs. And I found the names for the Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars version, when i was editing; in the file names of the samples. And the names aren’t the same in every region, because the Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars version mostly uses the PAL name for the Mario Party 3 music used in these games. Don’t you dare to remove it, i put alot of time into it.Yoshi18 (talk) User:Yoshi18/sig
- Can you be more specific about these videos? And file names are just rough titles that fit the files and so aren't always accurate; you should always use the primary source (the game itself) as reference if possible. Also, don't demand other users to not remove your edits, we have the right to if they're invalid or incorrect. A lot of users have had their edits removed even though they put effort into them. Mario JC 07:17, August 30, 2023 (EDT)
Search on YouTube (for example): “Mario Party 3 Got It? Minigames”, then you’ll probably find the guy who i’m talking about, he shows the minigame that uses that music.
- It would've been helpful if you linked the channel. Anyway, be careful when sourcing from non-primary sources like random YouTube videos because there's a chance they could be wrong (which they are as confirmed by the user who first pointed it out), in which case you should verify with them first or, as I mentioned above, the original game itself. As I've also already said, don't order other users to leave your edits intact, make summaries like this (telling someone to "live with it") and again, continue to redo your previous reverted edits without discussion first; that is discourteous and will result in another block if this continues. Mario JC 09:51, August 30, 2023 (EDT)
But what else can I do to prove that i’m right and how do you link a YouTube channel? And you do understand how stupid it is if people change or remove your hard work you put hours into (I put 3 hours into it). And after this i’m pretty sure i’m done with Mario Party 3 FOREVER (literally)Yoshi18 (talk) User:Yoshi18/sig
- I'm aware it's disappointing but if the information turns out to be false, it can't just be left there. This is a wiki, and other users changing or removing your work is the nature of the website. As I said, it happens. Adding content, especially large amounts of it, under the impression that it's correct/valid that later turns out to not be the case for whatever reason is something editors have dealt with before. Mario JC 07:27, September 1, 2023 (EDT)
We meet again and have the videos that literally proof I’m right (I have more proof then ever). Have you ever even seen the PAL version of the game? The YouTubers here DID play the PAL version: https://youtu.be/YvDqYZqyY7o https://youtu.be/UBTHV3IwBYU https://youtu.be/9uvWzwoDJqc?feature=shared All of these videos proof that I was right about the PAL names and you guys wrongly removed them. Now I gotta re-add them, I DID RESEARCH. But it just got thrown into the trash by you guys and now I gotta re-add. So no sorry? Yoshi18 (talk) User:Yoshi18/sig 12:12, August 20, 2024 (CEST)
- How do you know they did play them and didn't just copy them from a different source? You're still basing your evidence off YouTube titles and descriptions and not actual footage or images from the game itself (the primary source, as I said before). The first channel is even from the US, making it even less likely. (EDIT: And if you check the European version of Mario Party 3 on NSO, you can see that they use the same name across both versions, so there are no PAL names.)
- Also, stop adding speculation to articles; you were already told twice about this. Mario JC 06:26, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
The thing with you Yoshi riding himself wasn’t speculation, it was just the truth. Also I saw some speculations on other articles but give me a minute to find a video of the Sound Room in the PAL version Yoshi18 (talk)
- I'm not referring to that, I'm referring to the Mario Party 9 Bowser Jr. edit, which I just linked. Mario JC 06:41, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
Pump, Pump and Away void
The void in Pump, Pump and Away also wasn’t meant to be seen and it also ways a error like in Specter Inspector, Mario jc
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yoshi18 (talk).
- I disagree on Pump, Pump and Away's black spaces being unintentional, the game uses a lot of the diorama style, and it's so obvious that it's unlikely the developers didn't notice it as an error. Mario JC 07:27, September 1, 2023 (EDT)
- But do you REALLY think that the developers did it on purpose? We both know that voids are never meant to be seen.Yoshi18 (talk)

Latest appearance
Hello, Yoshi18. Just to let you know, we don't update the most recent appearance and artwork in an infobox until after the work has been released in any region (not counting beta and demo releases). Thanks for understanding, and keep contributing. |
Nightwicked Bowser 17:42, August 19, 2024 (EDT)

Italics
Review this reminder: #Italics. You need to use straight apostrophes (') and not curly ones (’) to do this, so depending on your device, you may need to hold onto the apostrophe key to get the straight version or turn off smart punctuation in the settings (for iOS, Settings > General > Keyboard > turn off "Smart Punctuation"). Mario JC 09:46, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
Citations
Read MarioWiki:Citations for how to cite outside sources as references. Mario JC 12:59, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
Please make sure you watch your grammar as well, particularly how you use punctuation like periods and semicolons (especially, don't use a period where a comma should be when you're connecting to a previous sentence with a conjunction or term like ", as well as..." or ", meaning..."). Mario JC 13:13, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
Yeah I’m sorry, I know my grammar is not the best, at least I have you guys that can help me with my mistakes. Yoshi18 (talk)
RE: Gold Mario
Because exactly that, it's fan-edited. We only use official artwork without any modifications to them. Mario JC 09:01, August 21, 2024 (EDT)
Thanks for this information, but I just think the Mario Kart Tour artwork looks kinda bland. Yoshi18
"Unknown"s
Please stop adding phrases like "it's unknown if..." and "for whatever/an unknown reason". They add nothing to the information (and also border on speculation when suggesting something to happen even if it's unknown, almost like saying "Maybe characters perform their animation off-screen here, maybe not"). Mario JC 08:29, August 22, 2024 (EDT)
Previewing edits
Hello, Yoshi18. When editing, if you'd like to see how your edits affect a page, use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save changes" button. This allows you to check over your edits for any errors and make any additional changes or fixes before you save, which will prevent edits from flooding the page history and recent changes. (If you are on mobile, make sure to check the preview page thoroughly before proceeding to save.) Please try to avoid making excessive, consecutive edits to a single page within a short timespan and instead limit them to as few as possible. |
Stop making repeated edits to a single page. Preview your edits and think about what to write first rather than finding and making one change after another. This is especially frustrating when others are trying to edit after you and it causes edit conflicts. Mario JC 09:36, August 22, 2024 (EDT)
Yeah I’m sorry man, I just directly copy pasted it, but I remove it shorty after so DON’T worry. I listened to what you said but I just forgot to remove it, which I did AFTER. Yoshi18
Oh yeah, also I have a question, how do you add that references tab. I sourced the video but it didn’t get into the references tab. Yoshi18
You just type the following at the bottom of the page (above the navigation templates and categories):
==References== <references/>
Mario JC 10:03, August 22, 2024 (EDT)
Thanks! Yoshi18
Picture This
How can a tie occur in Picture This? Dwhitney (talk) 11:22, August 22, 2024 (EDT)
If nobody does anything for a couple rounds. Yoshi18
I dunno how many rounds, but anyway; it happens. As proven in this video.[1] Yoshi18
RE: Mario Party minigame tab
What do you mean by "tab"? Like a list page, like List of Super Mario Party minigames, or a navigation template like Template:SMP minigames? Mario JC 10:43, August 31, 2024 (EDT)
I mean the template Yoshi18 14:00, September 1, 2024 (CEST)
- Start creating one by clicking on a link to its title (Template:SMPJ minigames). Then you can just copy/paste source text from another similar template (like the one for Super Mario Party I just linked) and replace all of the necessary parts with ones relevant to Jamboree. Mario JC 08:18, September 2, 2024 (EDT)
Categorizing files
Hello, Yoshi18. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, images related to the game Super Mario World would use: or one it its subcategories. Media files would use: Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hi! Great work on your recent uploads, but make sure you categorize your uploaded files when you upload them. If you forget, you can always do so after they're uploaded.
You have been uploading video game screenshots from games, so you must type in
below the "aboutfile" template. For example, Mario Party 2 images are categorized as
. Hope this helps! Sparks (talk) 12:40, September 5, 2024 (EDT)
Thanks dude! Yoshi18
Image files should only use "images" categories. Categories like "minigames" are for articles only. Mario JC 09:18, September 8, 2024 (EDT)
Minigame pages
Good start on the minigame pages, but a few things to note:
- You need to cite a reference for the minigame details you're adding (as described above).
- A "Navigation" header is unnecessary. This is automatically displayed for mobile users.
- Do not guess. We've yet to see footage of Tricky Turntable's loss condition and you still added a detail for this anyway. Even though it's likely to be a losing animation, this is unconfirmed and still speculation which I've reminded you of several times already. Only add what we know so far.
I suggest looking over your past articles to see and take note of what changes and improvements were made to them. Mario JC 09:53, September 6, 2024 (EDT)
Also can I suggest something? Can we use "PAGENAME" with in between instead of writing the minigame’s (or game’s) name. That’ll make things a lot easier! Yoshi18
New stubs
One or more pages that you have recently created have been deleted or marked as a stub article (List of Super Mario Party Jamboree minigames). Please consider the following ideas and suggestions when expanding/creating an article:
|
Do not start pages with barely any content, whether it's to finish it later or for some other reason, and especially not in an incomplete or broken state like you left it (as I've said before, preview and proofread your edits). It should have enough content from the start, and the game page already currently has a more detailed list of minigames with all of the citations and unconfirmed names, so just edit that for the time being. Mario JC 22:37, September 6, 2024 (EDT)
Mario Party minigames
Given how drastic a change you are making to the categorization of Mario Party minigames, please make a proposal first since there may not be consensus with your method. In addition, according to MarioWiki:Naming § Name changes, the most recent name used for subjects is the one used for the page title. - RHG1951 (talk) 14:04, September 7, 2024 (EDT)
- Stop moving article titles to older names or you will face another block. Nightwicked Bowser 08:13, September 10, 2024 (EDT)
What a nice way to say it. Anyway, I’m just trying to be original and help. If we don’t call minigames by their ORIGINAL name, why do we still call Ground Pounds, "Hip Drops" (the ORIGINAL name for N64 games), then? This just doesn’t make sense AT ALL. Yoshi18
- Read the policy section RHG linked to you. Articles should use the newer name as its title (e.g. Mush Pit over Toadstool Titan), but any mentions of a subject in the article itself in the context of an older game should use the name that game used at the time (e.g. "Hip Drop", which was the name used in Mario Party). Mario JC 08:49, September 10, 2024 (EDT)
This wiki is just sometimes…not really understandable, if you know what I mean. When I once changed Hip-Drop to Ground Pound. They said that we need to use original names, which I did and now I’m doing something wrong again and almost get threatened to get a block. This wiki is very confusing, both I’m still glad I can be part of it. Yoshi18
- Names in game sections use the names they had at the time. Names of articles use the most recent name. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:11, September 10, 2024 (EDT)
Edits
Again, phrases that are meant to be related to the previous sentence with words like "while" or "with", or this, should be a comma, not a new sentence. Either replace the period with a comma, or don't use the word; for example:
- In The Top 100 and Superstars, the winner's face sparkles, while in the latter, the winner will also exclaim.
- In The Top 100 and Superstars, the winner's face sparkles. In the latter, the winner will also exclaim.
And you're still occasionally using "you"s in your edits.
Lastly, be careful when you're adding images to pages. You won't see it in mobile mode, but if you don't add a frame or specify a width, the image displays in its original size and takes up the entire screen in desktop mode. Make sure to add "thumb" to standalone images and a width to infobox images:

Super Mario Party Jamboree minigame names
Please remember to add citations for names for Super Mario Party Jamboree minigames that you found. Justgetmycatch (talk) 14:09, September 10, 2024 (EDT)
Moving files
After renaming files, you need to update the names on any articles linking to them (under "File usage" on the file page) and mark the old name for deletion with delete. Mario JC 22:56, September 10, 2024 (EDT)
Ok that’s it. I’m think I’m done with this wiki, these STUPID people like you don’t wanna accept the FACTS, be more like that Mario guy who ACTUALLY THANKED ME for the things I do and APPRECIATES ME, something you will likely never do. I am one of the biggest Mario fans in the world, I KNOW what I’m talking about. This block is insanely unneeded. It’s not my fault you don’t want something obvious to be seen on the wiki Yoshi18
