Plot synopsis
This episode supposedly takes place after the events of "The Pied Koopa," due in part to Pastaland's celebration being held at the beginning. Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad are all attending in honor of chasing the Pied Koopa out of the area. Suddenly, the Red Baron Koopa appears in what appears to be a cross between an airplane and a magic carpet. As The Red Baron Koopa heads to the celebration, he asks his Lakitu associate if the "secret weapon" is ready.
As Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool sit at a picnic table eating some spaghetti, Toad, who was sun-bathing, notices several storm clouds appearing in the sky. As Toad begins to try to tell Mario about the storm clouds, lightning suddenly shoots downward, striking Mario's plate of spaghetti. As more bolts of lightning start striking, all the partygoers begin panicking and running-away frantically as Mario begins to shout, "Save the spaghetti! Save the spaghetti!"
As rain begins to pour from the Lakitu's Cloud, the Red Baron Koopa orders the Lakitu to start releasing all the Spinies, which the Lakitu does. As the Spinies begin to cause havoc, the Red Baron Koopa announces to all of Pastaland's citizens that he plans on destroying their city using his "Wicked Weather Satellite." As Mario calls the satellite a piece of junk, an insulted Red Baron Koopa orders Lakitu to activate the satellite, which begins raining large amounts of snow on Pastaland.
As the snow begins to pile-up, the Red Baron Koopa issues an Ultimatum: unless Pastaland surrenders to him in seventeen minutes, he will freeze the entire country over. As Princess Toadstool bemoans the fate of Pasta Land, Toad comes up with an idea; use a large beanstalk the group had seen earlier to reach the Wicked Weather Satellite and destroy it.
Rushing off to the beanstalk, Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad begin to climb it. After some trouble, the group reaches the Wicked Weather Satellite and prepares to knock it out of the sky. Unfortunately, the Red Baron Koopa, in his flying machine, appears. Before Mario can reach the Wicked Weather Satellite, the Red Baron Koopa blasts the beanstalk's base with his fireball-launcher, causing the large plant to collapse, dumping Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad in the snow.
As Luigi begins to lose confidence in defeating the Red Baron Koopa, Toad, after scrounging through the snow, discovers a lever; pulling this lever, Toad activates a platform that lifts Mario and Luigi to Cloud Land. After a while of rising, Mario and Luigi are finally dropped-off at Sam Shalam and Slammer's magic carpet store. After some bargaining, Mario and Luigi manage to buy a magic carpet, "Guaranteed to last... until it falls apart."
While flying through Cloud Land, Mario and Luigi are ambushed by the Red Baron Koopa, who easily dispenses of the Mario Bros. magic carpet by blasting it with a fireball. Without their carpet, Mario and Luigi are sent plummeting to the ground. Luckily, Mario and Luigi are saved by Princess Toadstool, Toad and several Pasta Land citizens. Unfortunately, the trampoline used to save Mario and Luigi and the two sends them flying high through the air, right back to Sam Shalam's store.
Mario and Luigi begin to accuse Sam of cheating them with a shoddy carpet, saying the carpets haphazardous flying ruined their second chance of defeating the Red Baron Koopa. Sam, after hearing that Mario and Luigi are trying to beat the Red Baron Koopa, lets them have any carpet they want for free due to Sam wanting to see the Red Baron Koopa defeated, as it seems the Red Baron Koopa had previously robbed Sam's store. Mario, taking-up Sam's generous offer, acquires two carpets.
Back in Pastaland, Mario and Luigi show their recently built flying carpet biplane, with magic carpet wings, to Toad and Princess Toadstool. Boarding the flying carpet biplane, Mario manages to convince Luigi to be the pilot while he acts as the tail gunner. Toad suddenly begins to question Mario's plan, saying the fireball tail gun will not be enough to destroy the Wicked Weather Satellite; Mario suddenly hands Toad a bomb, saying he and Luigi will not be destroying the Wicked Weather Satellite, Toad will. Just as Pastaland is beginning to freeze over from the unceasing snowstorm, the Red Baron Koopa and Lakitu start relaxing on lawn chairs on a cloud, thinking themselves to be unstoppable and that they had already won.
After some encouragement by Princess Toadstool, Mario, Luigi and Toad take off in their biplane. After some flying trouble, Mario, Luigi and Toad fly straight through Lakitu's cloud, causing it to spring a leak. Proceeding onward, Mario stops the biplane near the Wicked Weather Satellite and has Toad use his bomb to blow it up.
As Mario, Luigi and Toad cheer over the destruction of the Wicked Weather Satellite, the Red Baron Koopa suddenly appears and begins opening fire on the group's biplane. After a back-and-forth dogfight, Mario manages to blast the Red Baron Koopa out of the sky with his fireball-launcher. The Red Baron Koopa is then sent plummeting to the ground below, swearing revenge against the Mario Bros. In Pastaland, Mario, Luigi and Toad are honored by Princess Toadstool with several medals which make them Pastaland heroes, thanks to them and their heroism, and Mario asking her if that comes with spaghetti, which made Luigi, Toad, Princess Toadstool and the Pastaland people laugh to Mario's joke, while Mario laughs along with them.
