An Antasman is a warlock resembling Antasma that appears in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Antasmen are one of the most powerful enemies in the game, and only appear in Dreamy Neo Bowser Castle, always fought in packs. They have a healing ability where they appear to "bond" together to heal themselves (the bind restores 6 HP multiplied by the number of Antasmen that are part of the bind); because of this, it is crucial to defeat all the Antasmen in a single attack, or in large amounts. If the remaining Antasmen are a certain distance away from the rest, they will lose their healing ability.

Antasmen have three attacks in battle:

  • All Antasmen will split up on the left and right sides of the screen and will all take turns at firing magic bolts at Mario. Mario and move up and down as well as jump during this attack. If Mario gets hit by a bolt, he might be inflicted with the Mini status effect. Because the Antasmen follow Mario's movements, they can be tricked to fire at other Antasmen, dealing high damage to them. The attack continues until all Antasmen have either attacked or been hit by a magic bolt. This attack can be performed no matter the amount of Antasmen left.
  • A group of Antasmen move to the background and charge up a powerful magic blast. While they charge up, remaining Antasmen will attempt to strike Mario with their staves. After they fully charge up, the Antasmen will send the magic blast at Mario. Mario can defend himself from the Antasmen and the magic blast by using his hammer. He can also change direction during the attack. If the magic blast is countered, the Antasmen that fired it will attempt to flee, but the blast hits them, dealing high damage to them. This attack can only be performed if there are lots of Antasmen left.
  • Their final attack involves all of them running off-screen and charging at Mario with magical walls. Some Antasmen can charge normally. Mario must defend himself by moving up and down as well as jumping; Mario can counter the Antasmen that have no wall. There has to be at least a few Antasmen left for them to perform this attack.
