File categories

Hello, thanks for your uploads. For future images, remember to replace {{uncategorized}} with a category link in the summary; for Mario Wonder images, you'd replace it with: [[Category:Super Mario Bros. Wonder images]]

Hi there! I may not be a staff member but I would like to further elaborate on image categories. Thank you for your contributions for uploading Super Mario Bros. Wonder images, but your most recent images (Petal Isles Flying Battleship 10-flower coin images to be specific) were not categorized properly. Here's how you do it!

Below the "aboutfile" template when you upload your images, be sure to use brackets (These: [[]]) to make sure the images fit all specific categories. These images are screenshots of the game, and so this would be the correct code: [[Category:Super Mario Bros. Wonder images]]

You inputted them like this: {{[Super Mario Bros. Wonder screenshots]}}

Also when uploading files, make sure you select the correct license for your images. These are screenshots, and so select the "Video game screenshot" option, and it will be all good!

Something I forgot to mention, the names of the Petal Isles Flying Battleship images were vague. They were named "First 10 Flower Coin Location", "Second 10 Flower Coin Location" and "Third 10 Flower Coin Location". Viewers would be confused as the names did not indicate which level the images were supposed to represent. I moved all three files to new specific names such as "SMBW Petal Isles Flying Battleship first 10-flower coin" and did the same for the other two images. Remember to give the images specific names! Hello, IlyasElGourcifi. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups: Images Audio/video files Company images Film images Game images Merchandise images Publication images System images Television series images Website images Company media files Film media files Game media files Merchandise media files Publication media files System media files Television series media files Website media files When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]] or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.
