A Special Shot is a move that any playable character can perform in Mario Golf: Super Rush. Special Shots can only be used when the energy gauge is full, similar to Mario Tennis Aces. There are four different types of Special Shots: "Strike" shots are capable of blasting away balls hit by other players on impact; "Stinger" shots can launch the ball straighter and farther than "Strike" shots; "Skipper" shots can bounce the golf ball three times, with the third one landing on the target; and the rest that use none of these labels can create special abilities that affect the floor like ice, lightning, and bombs. Special Shots are also capable of giving balls status effects for their next shot, impacting how straight they roll.

When the player triggers the Special Shot, they first see them prepare for their shot by performing an action, and by activating the Special Shot, they can be seen using external forces or special powers. The table below lists all separate names used for the Special Shots as revealed by the Toad commentators, along with a description for the action each character carries out to perform the shot, both before and while activated.

	Lightning Blast	Wario	Readies himself by swinging his golf club towards the sky, as if he was summoning something.	Wario summons a lightning cloud above him, and he gets electrocuted, giving him power. He then swings the golf club with the lightning cloud at its end to strike the ball. The ball rises, and then drops vertically down.	Electrocutes the ground on impact. A lightning cloud spawns above, and electrocutes all balls below.
	Slim Stinger	Waluigi	Readies himself by putting both of his hands on the base of his golf club, directed upwards.	Waluigi spins once, sticking his golf club outwards. With a smug expression, he jumps in the air, spins again while swinging in a large arc and hits the ball with power. The ball travels horizontally.	Blasts away balls in its path.
	Spiral Stinger	Peach	Readies herself by putting both of her hands on the grip of her golf club, saying "Yeah!"	Peach releases a pink ribbon while spinning with her golf club. She then twirls the ribbon in circles and strikes the ball away with the long ribbon. The ball travels horizontally.	Blasts away balls in its path.
	Blossom Strike	Daisy	Prepares to spin her golf club by holding her hands in position, saying "All right!"	Daisy spins her golf club at an increasingly quick speed, then she flips her golf club in the air, and strikes the ball with power, with petals coming off. The ball rises, and drops sharply downwards.	Blasts away balls on impact.
	Eggschanger	Yoshi	Lifts a foot in the air behind him, with his arms stretched out.	Yoshi spins in midair and gobbles the ball, turning it into a egg before hitting the ball with his tail. 	Meteor Strike	Bowser	Prepares himself by raising his golf club towards the field, while roaring. 	Smokeball	Bowser Jr.	Jumps up and down with excitement, saying "Yeah!"	Bowser Jr. does a backflip and lands in his Junior Clown Car, before it pulls back and swings the golf club onto the ball before spinning out and vanishing. The ball travels in the usual angle.	Blasts away balls on impact.
	Mischief Twister	Boo	Does a small spin before waving its golf club tauntingly.	Six Boos appear and float around Boo before merging into the golf ball, then Boo spins widely and launches the ball with its golf club. The ball travels in the usual angle. 	Burly Strike	Donkey Kong	Readies himself by flexing before banging on his chest.	Donkey Kong lets out a cry before swinging his golf club rapidly in a circular motion, then grins before striking the ball with great force. The ball rises, and drops sharply downwards.	Blasts away balls on impact.
	Shooting Star	Rosalina	Does a small spin before readying herself, saying "Uh-huh!"	Rosalina waves her wand in the air as it shines, summoning three Lumas. The Lumas spin around and become balls of light and align with Rosalina's wand, before Rosalina uses the wand to launch the ball with the golf club. The ball travels in the usual angle as the balls of light circle it.	Blasts away balls on impact.
	Songbird Stinger	Pauline	Prepares to sing with her hands on her golf club, saying "Fire!"	Pauline transforms her golf club into a microphone, and she sings the refrain of "Jump Up, Super Star!", before hitting the ball with power using the microphone's base. The ball travels horizontally.	Blasts away balls in its path. She runs quicker after using her Special Shot.
	Super Toad Strike	Toad	Does a small hop before continously waving.	Toad reaches into his golf uniform and pulls out a Mega Mushroom, before throwing it in front of him and striking both it and the ball with his club, enlarging the ball as it soars. The ball rises, and drops sharply downwards.	Blasts away balls on impact.
	Scrimmage Stinger	Chargin' Chuck	Prepares to grab the ball.	Chargin' Chuck hits the ball with golf club to toss it in the air before grabbing and throwing it towards the green, like a football. The ball travels horizontally with a football silhouette surrounding it.	Blasts away balls in its path.
	Bob-ombs Away	King Bob-omb	Readies himself by posing with both hands in the air.	King Bob-omb kicks the golf ball in the air and grabs it in his hand as a cannon rises from the ground, lifting him up as he starts blinking red while hopping inside of it. The cannon aims toward the green and King Bob-omb explodes, launching the golf ball. The ball travels in the usual angle.	Blasts away balls on impact. After the ball lands, five parachuting Bob-ombs land around the ball, launching balls upon exploding.
	Super Pickax Stinger	Toadette	Readies herself by skipping in place.	Toadette pulls out a Super Pickax before winking towards the screen, then spins multiple times before striking the ball with it. The ball travels horizontally.	Blasts away balls in its path.
	Hop Skipper	Ninji	Readies itself by hopping in place.	Ninji jumps while spinning faster and faster on each bounce. After the third, Ninji strikes the ball with its golf club. The ball bounces up to three times before stopping, with a Ninji silhouette appearing on each bounce.	Blasts away balls on each impact.
	Shell Skipper	Koopa Troopa	Koopa Troopa simply spins in his shell.	Koopa Troopa spins in his shell, then does a slower breakdance in midair before striking. The ball bounces up to three times before stopping.	Blasts away balls on each impact.
	Angry Strike	Wiggler	Prepares to turn red by angrily clenching his fists.	Wiggler turns red, stomps the ground, making three fruits fall, and then strikes both the ball and the fruits.	Blasts away balls on impact. His drive is powered up.
