Flowers[1] are objects in Donkey Kong 3 that appear in all of Stanley's greenhouses (blue, gray and yellow). In Donkey Kong 3, five flowers appear in every stage. Buzzbees and Butterflies try and steal Stanley's flowers, so Stanley must shoot them with his Sprayer. If a Buzzbee or Butterfly grabs a flower and feeds it to Donkey Kong, it becomes a Super Bee. Flowers start of as Sprouts before becoming Buds in the next stage and finally Blooms[2] and remain so even after the game loops back to the first round. If a flower is lost, it will be replaced by a Sprout in the following stage. Each surviving flower is worth 500 points. 2000 perfect bonus points are also awarded but only if all five flowers survive after completing a level. This rises to 5000 perfect bonus points if all the flowers are Blooms. In the NES version, all flowers start off as fully bloomed and the perfect bonus is 3000 points.
