In the Super Mario franchise, Professor E. Gadd has created a number of inventions. One of his projects is the Poltergust, a type of vacuum specifically designed to suck up ghosts. There are several different versions of the Poltergust:
- Poltergust 3000 - The first version of the Poltergust ever created. It appears in Luigi's Mansion.
- Super Poltergust 3001 - The second version of the Poltergust. It appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
- Poltergust 4000 - A version of the Poltergust that is both a kart and a vacuum. It debuts in Mario Kart DS and reappears in Mario Kart Tour.
- Poltergust 5000 - An upgraded version of the Poltergust that appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
- Poltergust G-00 - A further upgraded version of the Poltergust that appears in Luigi's Mansion 3 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Poltergust G-00 - A kart which resembles the model from Luigi's Mansion 3 and was added to Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit in the 2.0 update.
