“More bouncy! More bouncy, Uncle Luigi!”
Baby Peach, Two Plumbers and a Baby

Baby Peach is a minor character in the Super Mario series designed to be the baby form of Princess Peach. She made a one-time appearance on the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! before reappearing sixteen years later in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Since then she has become a recurring character in sports spin-offs with Baby Daisy like Baby Mario and Luigi before her, likely traveling to the future in the time machine she used to get back to the past.

Early Life

Baby Peach was born to King Toadstool with no knowledge of her status as a Star Child. An only child, she was intended to rule the Mushroom Kingdom when she grew older. Her caretaker, Toadsworth the Younger, worked tirelessly to ensure her safety and happiness.

As revealed in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Baby Peach grew very fond of the Mario Bros. as she grew older despite their age difference; they were babies while she was still an infant. Toadsworth the Younger often requested their presence for play dates when the princess threw tantrums. Whether these visits began prior or following her first kidnapping is unconfirmed.

Bowser's Mass Kidnapping

In Yoshi's Island DS, Kamek and his Toadies set out to kidnap all seven Star Children so that the adult Bowser from the future could steal their powers. Kamek staged a massive kidnapping of countless babies from all around Mushroom World in the hope of finding the Star Children. Princess Peach was one of many targeted. A Toady entered Princess Peach's Castle through a tower window and stole her away. However, the Stork discovered Kamek and attacked the pack of Toadies. He managed to release Baby Mario and Baby Peach, both of whom fell to Yoshi's Island below. Baby Peach softened her fall by floating down with her parasol.

After she began riding on the Yoshis' backs in Catch the Breeze, Baby Peach proved herself useful. Her parasol assisted the Yoshis she rode in terms of Flutter Jump length and also allowed them to ride upon strong winds to reach high areas. Baby Peach met many other babies at this time, including Baby DK, Baby Wario, and Baby Bowser. The Yoshis eventually discovered that Bowser of the future was behind the mass kidnappings and put a stop to his plans, preventing the theft of Peach's star power. The Stork returned Baby Peach to the castle, where she lived peacefully for some time.

The Shroob Invasion

In light of the souring conditions on the Shroob planet, the Shroobs, led by Elder Princess Shroob and Princess Shroob, plotted to invade and destroy the Mushroom Kingdom and create a kingdom of their own in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Their first target was Princess Peach's Castle. By coincidence, Baby Bowser was also planning his first attack on the kingdom to kidnap Princess Peach. Just as Baby Mario and Baby Luigi arrived for a play date, Baby Bowser broke into the castle. Baby Mario defeated him, saving Baby Peach from the attack.

However, no sooner had Baby Bowser been defeated the Shroobs began their attack on the castle. Caught unprepared, the castle was soon declared lost. Realizing that they were in grave danger if they stayed, the Baby Bowser called Kamek and ordered him to bring the Koopa Cruiser. He allowed Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, and Toadsworth the Younger to flee with him. Toadsworth the Younger placed the princess in a stroller and rolled her aboard.

Just as they neared Bowser's Castle, Princess Shroob sent a missile and shot the Koopa Cruiser down. It crashed into the castle, sending Baby Peach and Toadsworth the Younger flying. He searched the castle with the princess, eventually finding Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi escaping to the future through a time hole. They followed, emerging in the Mushroom Kingdom of the future, years after the Shroobs had been defeated and order restored.

Toadsworth the Younger and Baby Peach remained in the future where it was safe while Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi traveled back and forth through time to save the Mushroom Kingdom. The efforts of the future Toadsworth and Toadsworth the Younger to amuse the young princess taught the Mario Bros. new moves. After the brothers defeated the Shroobs, liberated the Mushroom Kingdom of the past, and saved the future Princess Peach, they returned to the future. Using Professor Elvin Gadd's time machine, Baby Peach, Toadsworth the Younger, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi returned to the present.

First Cameo

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Baby Peach appears a trophy. This was her first appearance in a three-dimensional video game. This time she sported a new, updated outfit which would later be used in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Super Sluggers. The trophy was unlocked by unlocking five hundred other trophies.

Minor Behind the Wheel

Baby Peach entered the Mario Kart races in Mario Kart Wii. The princess appeared in the future alongside her older self from that time period. She fell into the small size class, which allowed her to drive karts or bikes with high acceleration and good off-road capabilities. However, these karts also had low speed. Like all the other racers, Baby Peach owned one version of each of the karts and bikes in her size class. Her karts and bikes were pink and her symbol was her crown. The normal and expert staff ghosts for Peach Gardens were recorded using Baby Peach in the Magikruiser and Mini Beast respectively.

Babe Peach

Baby Peach also makes her second spin-off appearance in Mario Super Sluggers. Baby Peach bats with a large pink rattle. She shares good chemistry with Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Daisy, Baby DK and Yoshi.

Princess Toadstool after falling in the Fountain of Youth in "Two Plumbers and a Baby."

Many years later, while the adult Princess Toadstool was searching for a way to save the Mushroom Kingdom after the events of Super Mario Bros., she, Mario, Luigi, and Toad came to the Kingdom of Youth after receiving word that King Koopa was staging a new plot from that location in "Two Plumbers and a Baby." They discovered that King Goo goo Ga Ga Koopa, one of King Koopa's alternate persona's, had increased the water flow of the Fountain of Youth in order to create a workforce of child slaves. The four heroes were seen, and in the ensuing chase Princess Toadstool tripped on a stone and fell into the fountain. She was transformed into her baby form, Baby Princess. Mario, Luigi, and Toad struggled to escape from King Goo Goo Ga Ga Koopa with the princess, but ultimately they escaped. They decided to wait for nightfall before freeing the slaves, but in the meantime Mario, Luigi, and Toad were forced to babysit Baby Princess, who had regressed back to her curious, mischievous, and helpless form. Finally, Mario and Luigi reversed the water flow of the Fountain of Youth, returning Princess Toadstool to her true, adult self.
