The icons for the courses can be different

As shown in the Lemmy Cup, the course icon can be different if the featured character of the cup already has tier 2 preference for the track. In this case, GBA Bowser Castle 1 has Lemmy in the course icon instead of Bowser. Is it possible to fetch these icons and add them where applicable?—Mister Wu (talk) 17:26, October 23, 2019 (EDT)

Well, the icons were uploaded really quickly, thanks SwampyGator (talk)!--Mister Wu (talk) 22:28, October 23, 2019 (EDT)

Gold Pass gifts

Should we note Gold Pass driver/kart/glider gifts by tour? It’s probably as important as spotlights as some stuff was exclusive to gold subscribers.

With the number of tours increasing over time, I fear we won't be able to get past what we're listing now. The only reason it still makes sense to show the pipe spotlights is because they are outright featured in the tour's introductory image. Within the individual tour pages we should already be listing the Gold Pass gifts.--Mister Wu (talk) 04:12, January 26, 2021 (EST)
Yes I think you're right.

Splitting this page to reduce bloating

This page is pretty large, and will only become larger. I would recommend splitting it based off years, as in "List of Tours in Mario Kart Tour (2019)", "List of Tours in Mario Kart Tour (2020)", etc. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 11:43, September 21, 2021 (EDT)

All tour's trailer backgrounds (excluding New York Tour)

Can Mariojc please add trailer backgrounds because I cannot know how to do it for me (look at Nintendo Mobile or Zephiel810 to see all trailers of Mario Kart Tour)? Also please color code each of them like the trailers given?Pierce Ng (talk) 04:41, January 8, 2022 (EST)

Tour trailer splash screens

I noticed that the tour template is slightly redesigned to add the YouTube link to the trailer, its trailer music, and the splash colours. I would also want to add additional decoration features that appear in the splash screen, which some later tours trailers have.

  • Summer Festival Tour: fireworks
  • 1st Anniversary Tour: neon city skylines
  • Halloween Tour 2020 and 2021: Jack-o'-lanterns
  • Winter Tour 2020: falling snow
  • Rosalina Tour: stars
  • New Year's 2021 Tour: golden confetti
  • Cat Tour: cat paw prints
  • Snow Tour and Penguin Tour: falling snowflakes
  • Ninja Tour: ninja stars
  • Wedding Tour: falling petals

New Year's Tour (2020) placement within lists

Before starting an edit war with PhGuy12 for the placement of these tours into the subjective lists I'll like to offer the following arguments as to why it should be part of the 2019 list:

  • As per other instances of content added to games post launch (DLC) the official dates given by Nintendo is the official date it becomes available which was and still is in Pacific Time, in this case December 31st of 2019.
  • Even if the mayority of the world had to wait until January 1st of 2020 there was a minor region in which the tour existed in 2019 for one or two hours, therefore it should be concidered as launched and started in 2019.
  • Every other instance of New Year's Tour start on the year before and spills into the next one, even if most of it occurs in the new year in question.

If needed I'll like to open a vote process for the topic. MariusM (talk) 23:42, June 7, 2023 (EDT)

Nintendo of America uses the Pacific Time most likely because Mario Kart Tour has a daily timer, which resets at 6:00 AM UTC. Also, the other instances of New Year's Tour started in December for all regions, so they do not serve as comparison.
And speaking of DLC, the date announced for the release of the Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass was March 9. When it was made available, it was the day before in some regions.

List of 2024 tours in Mario Kart Tour

A page for the 2024 tours in Mario Kart Tour needs to be made.CMM2002 (talk) 07:22, January 29, 2024 (EST)

I personally don't think we need one. All tours going forward are repeats and at that point, an article for the 2024 tours would just be copy pasting the tables from the 2023 tours. If anything, we probably don't need the tables from the Battle Tour rerun. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. I suggest that the durations of the repeated tours are updated with the differing dates from different years, then. For example, on the 2022 Tours page, the Battle Tour's duration is listed as October 4 2022 - October 18 2022, and October 3 2023 - October 17 2023.CMM2002 (talk) 16:14, January 29, 2024 (EST)
That sounds reasonable to me. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Sprite of Daisy's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Stop listing tour reruns separately

Proposal.svg This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment.

Current time: Thursday, December 26, 2024, 09:56 GMT

Every tour since the 2023 Anniversary Tour has been an identical rerun of a previous tour, not even having separate articles on the wiki, but for some reason they're still being listed separately on the 2023 tours list, and there's a red link to a 2024 tours list that, if created, would entirely be repeated information from the 2023 list. This repetition is weird and unnecessary (and also absent from the MKT navbox's list of tours) so I propose we get rid of the separate listings for the reruns and instead incorporate the small amount of unique information they have, that being the dates and the trailers, into the listings for the original tour, something like this:

The Battle Tour from Mario Kart Tour Duration:
October 4, 2022, 11:00 p.m. (PT) – October 18, 2022, 10:59 p.m. (PT)
Rerun duration: October 3, 2023, 11:00 p.m. (PT) – October 17, 2023, 10:59 p.m. (PT)
Trailer
Trailer
Music: SNES Donut Plains
Theme color/design: Yellow/green/cyan/magenta
Yellow/green/pink/purple (rerun)
Week Ranked cup Spotlights
1 Peach Cup Driver Glider
Mario (Chef) from Mario Kart Tour The Chocolate Pretzel from Mario Kart Tour
Mario (Chef) Chocolate Pretzel
2 Mario Cup Driver Glider
Luigi (Chef) from Mario Kart Tour The Para-Panini from Mario Kart Tour
Luigi (Chef) Para-Panini

Note the two dates and two trailer links (preferably the links could be worded differently as "Trailer (2022) / Trailer (2023)" or "Trailer (rerun)" or something like that but that would require changes to the template).

Also, if this proposal passes, the redundant second listings in the infoboxes for these tours in the "<< List of 20XX tours >>" bit at the bottom will be removed as well, except for the Battle Tour since it's the only one with a different preceding tour in the rerun.
