Talk:Mario's Puzzle Party Pro
Merge with Mario's Puzzle Party
Template:SettledTPP Template:ProposalOutcome This is basically just a single player version of Mario's Puzzle Party. The Mario Party DS version of this game has gameplay more similar to this, but it's merged with the original game. This game version plays with almost the same rules, but it's seperate. I think this should be merged with Mario's Puzzle Party, even if it has a different name.

- Marshal Dan Troop (talk) The game lists them as separate minigames therefore they are separate minigames.

@Marshal Dan Troop: O.K., I see your point. But allow me to bring this in to support myself. We have both Bowser's Big Blast and Bowser's Bigger Blast merged into the same article. Yes they are basically the same game, but Bowser's Bigger Blast is still merged with Bowser's Big Blast despite being in different games. Since they have different names and are from different games, why are they merged? Mario Party DS's Puzzle Party plays in the same way as this one. Why isn't it merged with this article? They have different names but the same gameplay, just like the Bowser's Big Blast situation. Tails777 (talk)
- Well we could always reverse that!. Marshal Dan Troop (talk)
- Then should I delete this proposal and create a different one on the other article? Tails777 (talk)
- If you want it's up to you i'm just pointing out that there wasn't a discussion to merge Bowser's Bigger blast it was just a think that happened. Marshal Dan Troop (talk)

In Mario party superstars ?
The solo mode of Mario Puzzle appears Mario Party superstars is the version pro? It is the version pro or another version.

This is essentially a single player version of the same minigame. The version in Mario Party DS is more similar to Puzzle Party Pro while the Score Attack version in Mario Party Superstars has the exact same gameplay as this but both games are merged with the regular Mario's Puzzle Party. There also probably isn’t enough info that can’t simply be placed in the regular Mario's Puzzle Party page, we could just say something like “In Mario Party 3, there is a single player version of this minigame players can unlock after they win 1000 coins in Game Guy Room, where players attempt to get the highest score before three minutes pass”.

- Camwoodstock (talk) See, normally we'd be inclined to keep these split and say to move the Superstars info to here, but um. Then the single-player edition appeared in Mario Party DS under Puzzle Mode, in which it is merged to the ordinary article, and not to here? Either this (and a good few of those Puzzle Mode versions) need to be split, the Superstars info needs to be moved here, or this needs to be merged and the mention of the single-player versions can be added to the article opening.

- MegaBowser64 (talk) The games treat these as two separate minigames, and even though they are basically two versions of the same thing, they should be distinguished.
- Tails777 (talk) After attempting to type out a comment on how I'm on the fence about this, I think I'm more inclined to oppose. I think of this situation closer to how we handled Balloon Burst; it's a shift in category, which was enough to have those two games split. The gameplay is functionally the same, sure, but unlike Balloon Burst, where the aim of the game was still the same, Puzzle Party Pro is about setting a high score while Puzzle Party is about hitting a target score first. I'd sooner merge the Mario Party DS info to this page, mainly because it plays by the single player rules without the multiplayer rules present and even that isn't fully necessary. As for the Superstars info, well considering almost every puzzle game has both the multiplayer/single player ruleset present, I think it's fine to keep the Superstars info merged with the base Mario's Puzzle Party to be consistent with the others. This game still has it's own name and is treated as separate in the same game as it's parent game.

Well, I guess it was only a separate game in Mario Party 3, but the fact that it has ever been separate is enough not to merge. BOWSER... (talk) 12:40, November 29, 2023 (EST)
