Wing Mario in mid-flight
When Mario wears a Wing Cap in Super Mario 64, He becomes Wing Mario, which grants him the ability to fly with the small wings on his cap until the time-limit expires. In order for Mario to attain flight, he must first perform a Triple Jump or be shot from a Cannon. Once in the air, Mario would have to constantly raise and lower himself to maintain flight. Wing Mario returned in the remake, Super Mario 64 DS, and served the same purpose from the original but was achieved by collecting a feather (instead of the Wing Cap) which would only appear for Mario.
