Hey there everyone! I hope you enjoyed the Awards Ceremony. A lot of people took time and effort to make it special, so I want to give a special thanks to them. Now that things are settled a bit on that end, I would like to turn your attention to Issue 200! I'm sure you've heard of it by now, but it's set to release on November 18th, 2023, which is three months away. I would like to personally remind you all that we are still accepting applications for it. Simply send me an application according to the following guidelines:

1.) Tell us the title of your section, and, if you have a specific placement in mind, if you'd like it to be a standalone special or to have it appear on a particular team page. (It's okay if you don't have a place in mind, we'll find the best place for you.)

2.) Clearly indicate that you want this section to be in issue 200.

3.) Acknowledge and agree to the policy that allows The 'Shroom's staff to turn down or remove your section if your actions reflect poorly on The 'Shroom, with these actions including extensive misbehavior in any part of the community.

4.) Include your full submission, written out, making sure it complies with our policies in the Manual of Style.

That's all it takes! We want to make this process super easy for you, so if you have any questions, or lingering doubts, please reach out! I'm available on the forums, as well as on Discord if you'd like to ping me in the Super Mario Wiki Discord server. You can also find any of our other staff members through the contact us page, and they will be happy to assist you. If we accept your submission, we'll simply hold onto it for you, and it'll debut in Issue 200!

If you need creative outlet, The 'Shroom is a great way to output your ideas. On the other hand, if you're in need of ideas, you can find a detailed list of some example sections on the sign up page. We're always accepting 'Shroom sections for every issue, but we want to make sure that Issue 200 is as beefy as we can, so we'd love to have lots of people submit their pieces.

We've already got a couple from some people, and I'm grateful for their contributions. There's already special art for you to enjoy, and we've got some refreshing takes on old sections. Whether you want to draw, write something original, or put your own spin on something, here's some basic ideas:

  • Fake News is home to, well, fake news! Weather Reports, Travel Guides, TV Guides, tap into your journalistic integrity by writing your own news stories! Many are in the world of Super Mario, but that's not stopping you from coming up with whatever fictional setpiece you want. Contact Waluigi Time (talk) if you want to learn more, or take a look at this issue's sections!
  • Fun Stuff contains all sorts of activities like you'd find in a regular newspaper such as Word Searches, Crosswords, and more! You could also come up with elaborate riddles like those featured in Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?. Roserade (talk) takes the helm if you want to talk more ideas, but you can also break out the metaphorical pens to solve this issue's activities.
  • Palette Swap showcases community created content! Comics, original stories, artwork, and more! If you have anything from a magnum opus to a humble fanfiction, or just a simple image created by you, please consider sharing it courtesy of an Issue 200 submission. FunkyK38 (talk) hosts this gallery and you can iron-out ideas with her or observe the gallery of pieces featured this issue.
  • Pipe Plaza features all of our informative pieces. Many of them are tailored around community affairs such as the wiki and forums, but you could write about anything! Want to discuss the history of a niche subject as exemplified in What's in a Campaign? Or maybe you want to inform the public about real-world subjects. Either way, Zange (talk) will be happy to help you out if this area interests you, and take a look at the current community updates.
  • Critic Corner hosts almost any opinion about nearly anything! Reviews about movies, video games, food, music, TV, it's all fair game. I imagine many of you want to talk about your thoughts on at least one of these things anyway, why not write them down in the form of a special 'Shroom section? Hypnotoad (talk) also accepts submissions directly if you want, and find some example columns that have been posted today.
  • Strategy Wing is our centralized gaming team. Strategy guides, walkthroughs, easter eggs, analysis, surely there's at least one game out there you know like the back of your hand. Consider sharing your in-depth knowhow for audiences to take in. Hooded Pitohui (talk) compiles data here, and will love to work with you to flesh out any details you've got stored. Learn all sorts of gaming info featured in this issue!

We will also have sections for Issue 200 as a standalone special, so if you'd rather have your submission featured as such or have something outside the scope of our teams, that's okay! No matter what the subject might be, bring us anything you've got. As always, I'll be looking forward to what gets sent my way, so please write to me with your sections! I promise that I don't bite, and if you need any assistance, you're welcome to reach out. That's pretty much all I have to say here, so happy writing!
