Master Necky Snr.
Master Necky Snr. is a gigantic Necky and the sixth boss of the game Donkey Kong Country. He is also the guardian of the area known as the Chimp Caverns. Master Necky Snr. is one of the most important bosses in the Kremling Krew, as he is the final obstacle before Donkey and Diddy Kong can challenge the leader of the Kremlings himself, King K. Rool.
Master Necky Snr. fights similarly to the first Master Necky. However, instead of shooting one coconut at Diddy and Donkey Kong, Master Necky Snr. shoots an increasing amount of coconuts at the Kongs. Before he is hit, Master Necky Snr. shoots only one coconut at a time. However, after he is hit the first time, Senior shoots two coconuts at a time. After two hits, he shoots three coconuts, etc. Additionally, Master Necky Snr.’s coconuts fly farther and faster than Master Necky’s coconuts.
To defeat Master Necky Snr., Donkey or Diddy must use the bouncy tire in the center of the vulture’s lair to Jump high in the air and stomp on Master Necky Snr.’s head. After five hits, Master Necky Snr. will collapse on the floor. After the battle, Donkey Kong recovers his Giant Bananas and heads to King K. Rool’s pirate ship for the final showdown.
In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country, Necky's Revenge (Master Necky Snr.'s level) contains both Master Necky and Master Necky Snr. working together on defeating the Kongs. In the first movement, they both fire a single nut, one after the other. After one is defeated, the other goes crazy and shoots four nuts at a time. Defeating both birds will finish the boss.
Trivia
- Unlike other Neckys, who are pink in color, Master Necky Snr. has violet coloration.
- Like Master Necky, the player never gets to see Master Necky Snr.’s entire body. Only his purple-tinted head appears on the screen.
- Master Necky Snr. is rumored to be the father of Master Necky. Master Necky Snr. is also rumored to be the leader of the Neckys, thought the manual for the game DK: King of Swing claims that Fire Necky is the leader of the Neckys.
- Just like how his rumored son owned the Monkey Mines, Master Necky seemed to own the mines of Chimp Caverns, as well as the mountain caves themselves. He may be more experienced in leading a mine corporation, as the Kongs navigated through more mining machinery, and had a tougher time getting past his caves than in Master Necky's area.
