Stage 1-2 is the second level of Big-City and the second actual stage of Donkey Kong for the Game Boy.

With Stage 1-1 serving as the precursor of this level, Bowbow, Oils, Trash Cans, and the overall city atmosphere given by the buildings and girders return here. There are even some new elements introduced in the stage, such as a rope and, perhaps most importantly, Rappies - rat like enemies that circle around platforms.

Layout

At the base of the stage, on the left side, there are two small pillars whose tops are connected by a rope. Between the two pillars, a lonely bin stands on the ground. Over the right side of the same area, two beams of the same length are sticked to a decorative building wall with several windows slipt between the beams, the latter being linked by two ladders with the level base. In the middle, a Bowbow foe starts to walk; the player even sets off on his head. The highest placed beam from the ones presented earlier periodically greets an Oil enemy and is a headstart to several other tinier girders, arranged like stairs, which consequently lead to a Conveyor Belt at the right of which yet another girder sticks on to the level border. On this girder, the Key can be found. Next, there are several Rappy-hosting platforms, which steadily lead to the skycrapers' roofs. Another Oil enemy is found on the highest beam located in the western part of the stage. The exit door stays on the very last beam of the level - on the right side. Mario has to bring the key up to this point to successfully pass this stage.

Enemies

Pauline's lost items

Within this stage, Pauline's lost items can be found in the following order and in the following places:

  • Hat: Above the string that binds the pillars at the beginning of the level.
  • Bag: Right above the second-to-last platform, in the central part of the stage.
  • Parasol: Tightly maintained between two platforms, one of which hosts the first Rappy.
