Chunky Kong
Chunky Kong is a character who debuted in Donkey Kong 64. His name is often wrongly applied to his younger brother, Kiddy Kong.
Chunky Kong is a big, strong ape that helps Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, and Lanky Kong on their mission to defeat King K. Rool and the Kremlingkrew. His weapon is a bazooka that launches pineapples. He is not as fast as the other Kongs, and cannot Jump as high as them, but he makes up for it with raw strength, being the only Kong who can lift large Boulders.
After drinking Cranky's potions, Chunky can do a super strong hit, become super huge, and become invisible. Chunky's instrument is the triangle.
In the GameBoy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! Chunky appears in one of Funky Kong's mini-games.
Trivia
- A small controversy was aroused over Chunky Kong's verse in the Donkey Kong 64 opening rap song using the line "one hell of a guy". This line was later changed to "one heck of a guy" when included in Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Nintendo Gamecube, despite the fact that Melee was rated T and DK64 was rated E. One might thing that due to the higher rating of Melee, Nintendo would have been far more able to get away with the lyric, but presumably it caused such a controversy the first time that they still changed it anyway.
- In Donkey Kong Barrel Blast He is the only Kong out of the crew of Donkey Kong 64 to not appear in the game. But his pineapple launcher is an item.
