On September 28, 2021, Universal Parks & Resort and Nintendo announced the expansion for Super Nintendo World, themed to the Donkey Kong franchise, and is set to open in 2024.
In the Nintendo Direct broadcasted on September 23, 2021, new gameplay footage of Mario Party Superstars was shown; Shigeru Miyamoto revealed the cast list for the upcoming Mario movie (pictured); a new membership expansion for Nintendo Switch Online was announced, featuring a selection of Nintendo 64 games at launch, including Super Mario 64; and new DLC featuring Koopa Troopa and Ninji was announced for Mario Golf: Super Rush. Additionally, Nintendo teased a new Mr. Sakurai Presents presentation detailing the last fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
WarioWare: Get It Together! was released worldwide on September 10, 2021.
On September 9, 2021, Nintendo and LEGO announced the LEGO Super Mario 64 ? Block, a new set in the LEGO Super Mario line that opens up into dioramas of areas from Super Mario 64 and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2021.
