1-4 (NSMB)
World 1-4 is one of the many levels in New Super Mario Bros.
Overview
World 1-4 is a grassy meadow, much like World 1-1. The first ? Block (which is on the ground, and not floating, unlike most ?-Block) contains a Mushroom. A ?-Block containing a Mini Mushroom is later found in the level. The Mini-Mushroom can be used to travel into a small pipe nearby that lead to the first Star Coin.
A wall made up of Brick Block and Cement Block that is bocking the access to a Pipe. The Wall is shaped in such a way that it's possible to thrown a Koopa Shell on it, which will breaks all of the Blocks and will eventually allow Mario/Luigi to enter it. Alternatively, the player could use a Mega Mushroom to break the block Wall, althought the Pipe could end up being accidentally broken. The pipe lead to a cave that contain a Star Coin that is reached by using a P-Switch that turn every Brick Blocks into Coins and vice-versa.
The third Star Coin is found in a small gap just before the level flagpole.
Infinite 1-Up Trick
This level posses one of the few spots of the game where it is possible to generate an infinite number of Extra Life. Just after the Block Wall, two pipes can be found nearby, both of which produces an infinite number of Goomba. The Trick is to throw a Koopa Shell between the two pipes, the Koopa Shell will hit the Goombas produced by the Pipe and eventually, the Player will gain an Extra Life for every Goombas hit. Since the Pipes never stop producing Goomba and that the Koopa Shell won't dissapear until the player go too far from it, it is possible to collect up to 99 1-Ups.
