Hello, readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to the May 2021 edition of Fun Stuff! What's that? You were expecting someone else? Worry not, dear readers. Roserade is fine. I simply have snuck into his office to steal his secret 'Shroomfest strat- Er, I mean to say that I came into his office to bring him a nice delicious cold beverage after his victory in the last 'Shroomfest. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Be sure to remove the real reason I'm here before this goes to print.]
Unfortunately, we're missing Trivia this month, but don't worry, there's plenty of other games to go around.
I won't keep you here long while I keep the seat warm. We have the usual Fun Stuff sections you know and enjoy, so, please, go on and have some fun playing the games our writers have prepared!

Anagrams
Written by: BBQ Turtle (talk)
Hello everybody, welcome to May's edition of Anagrams! This month, I've put together some anagrams for you based around mountains and volcanoes, so I hope you'll have some fun trying to solve them. If you've got a suggestion for a theme that I could use in a future issue or perhaps a funny Mario-related anagram that you've found that could be worked into another, please let my know by either leaving a message on my talk page or by sending me a PM on the forums, ideas are always welcomed. And with that, I'll let you get to the point!
How it works... Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares are yellow. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appears in the yellow squares, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!
1. LOVELORN BUG MAC
2. DONUTS MATH SUM
3. MOW UNIT OAR
4. PAJAMA UNTO JAM
5. UNKIND ATOM
6. LINT AT MANUAL TOLL
7. DYNAMIC CONKERS
8. NOUN BOOM VOLT
9. COLON LOOM AUCTION
10. OAK PAD PAGE
11. OPULENT BOA MEN
12. A FULL ION TOWNSMAN
13. MORE MAGNUM BOATSWAINS

Word Search
Written by: Chester Alan Arthur (talk)
Hello, Fun Stuff readers, and welcome back to another to another fun-filled (I hope) word search. This month, in honor of my new What's in a Campaign? section, I decided not to do any Mario games this month. Instead, we're going to do the fifteen semi-finalists in series four of Robot Wars - because cross promotion babeyyyyy! (Oh, also there were actually sixteen semi-finalists but one of them was named Pussycat and the generator didn't like part of that word...) This month's word search has the same solutions as last time in that words can be found backwards, forwards, diagonally, and even inside other words, so as always have fun stay safe!

Hiding Koopa
Written by: Ninja Squid (talk)
Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Welcome to an all-new edition of Hiding Koopa.
170 issues of The 'Shroom! That is quite a lot, and the path to the 200th issue of The 'Shroom becomes even shorter! Let's keep it up, because the fun has just begun!
Yes, each issues, and each sections of this newspaper find a way to bring us some pleasure, and that is pretty much thanks to all of our wonderful writers which includes me of course, because I write for The 'Shroom, and you should definitely consider applying to write some fun stuff as well. It's pretty easy, and I am the guy you must send applications to, so I am not very hard to find! :P
Ahem Now, that I did my little shilling, and while you are here, I have a tiny little request for you. Could you find out where my five awesome Koopas are hiding in this artwork of New Pokémon Snap? Of course you will, because I don't take no for an answer! Without further ado, have fun!
Answer:
Did you find them all? Regardless, thank you very much for your support, and I hope you will come back next month! In the meantime, look at our sign up page, and apply to the 'Shroom!
Picross
Well, it's time for another round of 'Shroom Picross! Welcome back, readers, and welcome to any new readers, for picrosses from yours truly. As it so happens, the very date that this issue releases marks 15 years since New Super Mario Bros. released in North America, so of course I had to make these picrosses themed on that game. (As a side note, I find it crazy that this game calls itself new and is almost as old as me.) Well, let's get started!
For new readers:
For new readers to this section, here's a short explanation about it: Every issue, you'll find two to four picross puzzles based on a certain theme, based on a Mario game, series, character, or item. If you have any ideas for themes, feel free to suggest them here. If you're new to picross, or need a refresher on the rules, here is a step-by-step walkthrough. You can also find many tutorials online. To play, download the picture and print it, or open it in a drawing program of your choice. Happy solving! |
Level 1
Level 2
I hope you enjoyed! Next month is a special issue, which means that I will have four picrosses instead of the usual two or three. See you then!
Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?
HOW TO PLAY
Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case! You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case! Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down. Challenge round (optional): -Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less -Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help |
