Waterfall Basin

Template:Location-infobox The Waterfall Basin is a location in the Cascade Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. It makes up the starting area where Mario finds himself after escaping Cap Kingdom. During future visits, the Odyssey lands in this area. In this area, there is a Checkpoint Flag, which is essentially discarded and replaced with the one on the Odyssey later on. South of the Checkpoint Flag, on a small ledge overlooking the abyss, are three regional coins. Nearby is a pole Mario can climb up to get a view of what awaits him up ahead.
Shortly ahead, between the basin and the waterfall, are a few piles of dirt and fossils. Additionally, there is a Chain Chomp in the area as well as a Crazy Cap station which shows up later in the game.
