Mushroom Car

In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, certain vehicles called "Mushroom Cars", are found driving on the main streets of two courses: Mushroom Bridge of the Flower Cup, and Mushroom City of the Star Cup. Though they appear to be an obstacle, proves to actually be somewhat helpful.

By driving into a Mushroom Car, one Mushroom will pop out and land on the road. Though the car slows the player down somewhat, it does not wipe you out; The player can then drive over the Mushroom and receive a brief burst of speed that may help him or her get ahead in the race. Of all the obstacle vehicles driving on the road, only the Mushroom Car is helpful.

Trivia

• The Mushroom Car is not a car at all, but rather a three-wheeled pick-up truck with Mushrooms in its bed.
• When a player hits a Mushroom Car, a Mushroom pops out. The sound it makes is the same sound as a Mushroom coming out of a ? Block from most Mario games.
• The Mushroom Car (or rather Mushroom Truck) has three wheels. Certain small pick-up trucks in Japan have three wheels, (like that of the Daihatsu Midget), and are used for deliveries. It appears that the Mushroom Car is making a small delivery.
