- In the Japanese version of Super Paper Mario, each Pixl's (pictured) name is written in katakana, but with one random character in hiragana. The only exceptions are Tippi and Tiptron.
- After a Game Over in Super Mario Bros., pressing while holding on the title screen allows the player to continue from the start of the world where they lost their final life.
- Super Mario 3D Land is the last 3D Super Mario platformer where the "Super" in the title is colored. In Super Mario 3D World and so on, the word "Super" in the games' titles would be plain white.
