Tree Zone
The Tree Zone is one of the many areas Mario must adventure through in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It consists of 5 stages, although only 4 are necissary to complete the World. Additionally, there is 1 hidden stage accessed from Stage 2. The Tree Zone is usually considered to be one of the easiest Worlds.
The Tree Zone revolves around a giant tree in the southwest corner of Mario Land. Stage 1 takes place in the ground surrounding the tree, and features enemies such as frogs, moles, and hedgehogs, all as big as Mario. Stage 2 takes place in the sap-filled hollow inside the tree. It features almost no enemies, with the exception of cow-like fish and an explosive relative to the Buzzy Beetle. Stage 3 is the left choice at the fork. It takes place atop the many branches, and features Leaf-Cutter Ants, beetles, flies, and others, all the same size as Mario. Stage 4 is the right choice at the fork. It takes place inside a giant beehive, and holds bees and larva as the primary enemy. It is harder than the other stages, as most of the enemies are semi-invincible. Stage 5 takes place in the tree's canopy, and features Owls and the like. The boss of Stage 5 is a giant bird.
One of the only secrets in the game, the completion of the single hidden stage in Tree Zone unlocks a different background in the Tree Zone's map.
