The Bristle are spiked monsters made of rock in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They have high defense, and if Mario trys to attack one with his hammer, he'll end up hurting himself. Plus, this monster is impervious to fire.
Technique
The Special Moves, Art Attack, Supernova, and Earth Tremor, will defeat a Bristle, as well as a Pow Block or an Earthquake. Mario can even defeat them by just using Superdodges.

Regular Bristle

- Tattle: That's a Dark Bristle. It's an ancient creature made of rock. You can't jump on it because of its spikes, and you can't approach due to its spears. AND its Defense is high. You'd better take it out with special attacks or items.
