Mii
Miis are characters in the Wii console; they take residence in the Mii Channel. Miis are based off of human beings and players can design what their Miis look like. Players can make themselves into Miis or make any other person into Miis. Players can make as many Miis as they can fit in the Wii's memory.
The Miis can be used on many video games for the Wii and can even be playable in the game Wii Sports. If the player hasn't created any Mii yet and is playing Wii Sports, the player will play as one of the game's default characters.
Appearances in Mario Games
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Miis have first appeared with Wario in WarioWare: Smooth Moves. In this game, the Miis star in multiplayer mode and in a few of the microgames. Players must also use Miis to personalize their own files. One of the multiplayer modes starring the Miis is very similar to the mini-game Balloon Bang.
Mario Party 8
In Mario Party 8 they are playable characters in the Extra Zone and are sometimes seen in the background of mini-games. The Miis in this game however wear overalls, gloves, and shoes like the Mario Bros. Miis are also available to personalize players' files.
Dr. Mario & Bacterial Eradication
In the upcoming Dr. Mario & Bacterial Eradication, Miis will be replacing Dr. Mario as the playable character.
Other Appearances
Miis also appear in games such as Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Mario Strikers Charged and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games to represent the player, similar to an avatar. In Super Mario Galaxy, players can personalize their files with Miis. Miis can also be chosen as avatars for the Wi-Fi mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, along with series emblems and the playable characters' icons.
