Talk:Eriko Ibe
Major breakthrough/realization:
I just realized that there is one voice in Mario Party 1 that's completely uncredited: the announcer. Whereas Martinet and Kozuki are credited for their respective character's "Oh no" voice sample and Toad/Kinopio (Maruno) has no new voice samples in that game (or Mario Party 2, where Ibe is also credited with the same two actors mentioned above), wouldn't that make Eriko Ibe the voice of the announcer (and ONLY the announcer) in both those games, given that Yoshi used SMW sound effects (made by Koji Kondo), Bowser/Koopa uses samples from Super Mario 64, and Baby Bowser and Koopa Kid use the same voice samples as Bowser/Koopa only sped up? - Kyubihanyou, September 3, 2011
Tumble[edit]
Given that Ibe is in the Special Thanks section of Mario Party 3 is it possible she's Tumble, or should Taylor only be considered for being credited for voices? By the same token, should Martinet be considered for Millenium Star instead of someone else more remote?
The announcer for Mario Party 4 (and 5) is also an issue... 67.83.150.192 11:12, 2 December 2013 (EST)
- If we don't know, then don't assume. I know this uncredited voices is a headache, but please don't assume until we got something definite.

nationality[edit]
What genius thought that eriko Ibe is Japanese? I have to know because her name is not Japanese, her accent is not Japanese, and she's never been to Japan. Where did this Japanese thing come from anyway, what Nintendo is Japanese so therefore anybody with a vaguely foreign nonEuropean name must be from Japan? Americans, they are so ignorant about the rest of the world, especially Africa. 199.101.61.254 16:14, November 18, 2019 (EST) I removed her nationality because there is no source that claims she is from Japan or even Asia for tha tmatter so don't add it again unles syou have a source. Long-held belief doesn't mean true, especially with Eriko Ibe's non-Japanese name. 199.101.61.254 16:32, November 18, 2019 (EST)
- people can be nationalities without a fitting name or accent. dual citizenship is a thing that exists. TheDarkStar 16:46, November 18, 2019 (EST)
That may be but there's no source linking her to Japan other than speculation.
this is Annice Moriarty vs. Kether Donohue all over again.

one, "this person is not the same person as this other person" is not comparable to "this person may be japanese". two, could you source that she's not japanese (like an external link or something)? TheDarkStar 17:29, November 18, 2019 (EST)
This is like the Kether Donohue vs. Annice Moriarty thing in the way that you guys assume that Eriko Ibe is Japanese just because it sat here on this page for eons. Also I don't have to prove she isn't Japanese, you must prove she is via an external source. I removed nationality because no source exists that says "Eriko Ibe is from here" or "Eriko Ibe was born here and raised here." I've looked all over the internet and there's nothing that states where she's from. This thing of "you must prove she isn't Japanese" is BS because you say she is Japanese with no source I can find. PS, IMDB is not a reliable source, even if it did say she is Japanese which it doesn't. That's how it's like the Annice Moriarty vs. Kether Donohue thing in the way you guys expect me to prove she isn't Japanese despite no source saying she is. 199.101.61.254 17:57, November 18, 2019 (EST)
Look, I accept that the part of her being born in Zambia was removed due to me not having a good enough source other than me sharing a surname with her. Can you at least do the same with the Japanese thing? Your claim is unsourced, I removed it. Please provide a source that she is Japanese. You're supposed to source your claims just like I am. Having a registered account does not make you exempt from that rule any more than me and her being born in the same place and sharing a surname (which I can't source) does. 199.101.61.254 18:04, November 18, 2019 (EST)
For whatever reason the PDF source linked by Mario JS isn't loading for me, can somebody take a look a tit and tel lme how it connects her nationality to being Japanese?
Again, she doesn't speak Japanese, she was not born in Japan and she's never been to Japan.
We're all trying to figure this out and I want to look at the source but for whatever reason it's not loading for me, this may be my wifi or something so somebody check please.

- Stop insisting these things like "She's never been to Japan" and "She was born in South-Central Africa" as if they're true if you're not going to provide proof yourself. It's the name underlined in red. Mario JC 19:25, November 18, 2019 (EST)
I just said it's not loading for me, PDFs are acting up. 199.101.61.254 19:46, November 18, 2019 (EST)
