Rainbow Road
  • Super Mario 64 was one of the games featured at The Art of Video Games exhibition at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in 2012. The game won voting in the "action" category for the Nintendo 64, beating out Banjo-Kazooie and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.
  • Since New Super Mario Bros., if the player manages to stomp on the Dry Bones, and the head falls into a pit or lava, it still comes back out and join the rest of the body, although it takes longer for it to do so.
  • In Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, in the Level Editor, it is possible to have only one Mini - it's an all or nothing deal (Mini in = 1000 + all in + perfect chain + all non-stop (6000) = 17000 points OR Mini out = failed level, 0 points). The G/S/B is 18200/13200/7200, but unless the player has under 120 seconds left and there are few coins, they are almost forced to get a gold or no star.
  • In the Mario Kart 7 version of Rainbow Road, there are three Item Boxes floating under the rings of the Saturn-like planetoid. It is possible to get one under the rings by gliding, but the player must get back on the track after getting the Item Box in order to use their item. However, it is quite difficult to do so without a mushroom.
