Talk:Missable content
What To Include
Should one time boss battles be included? This applies to RPGs mostly. I also have a question about the image to the right because I can't seem to replace it. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:47, 26 December 2016 (EST)
- Only if said boss battles cannot be fought at all after a certain point. For example (the only one I can think of is non-Mario, sorry) in Undertale, the secret boss Glyde can only be fought before Papyrus is battled, so he is considered missable content. But other bosses are not, since they have to be fought to progress. Those would fall into Unrevisitable locations, I believe.

Super Mario 3D World doesn't actually have missable content, does it?
I never used the Invincibility Leaf in my playthrough of 3D World, but other articles in this wiki (namely Completion#Super Mario 3D World stated pretty emphatically that shiny star status can be regained by running through the same course without using the Invincibility Leaf again. I changed this article to fit what the other one says, but in case I got it the wrong way around, I'll draw attention to it here, since it's a pretty painful mistake to make.
Maybe it would be less confusing if we removed 3D World from the page entirely, rather than including it and saying, "there's no missable content". But if we go with the latter, maybe we should include Donkey Kong Country Returns and point out that there's no missable content, since that game's use of a Super Guide analogue might scare players into thinking they ruined their chance for completion by using Super Kong out of curiosity. Or, maybe that's just me. FiveSparklyStars (talk) 06:04, 2 April 2017 (EDT)
Paper Jam confusion
This page says that any ? blocks not opened in Bowser's Castle are permanently missed after it transforms. However, the page for Neo Bowser Castle says that items missed during the initial visit can still be obtained. So, which is it?--Thatguy62 (talk) 21:34, 28 September 2017 (EDT)
New Super Mario Bros. 2 and U
Doesn't New Super Mario Bros. 2 have the sparkly star thing too like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, only instead of Super Guide you have the the Assist Block threatening your sparkles? And doesn't New Super Mario Bros. U has a similar thing where if you simply don't use Super Guide, the stars begin shining a little? MineDance (talk)
