Behind Chain Chomp's Gate
Template:Missionbox Behind Chain Chomp's Gate (also known as Behind Big Chomp's Gate[1]) is the sixth mission of Bob-omb Battlefield in Super Mario 64 and its seventh mission in its remake, Super Mario 64 DS. The mission's objective is to obtain the Power Star guarded by the titular Chain Chomp.
Layout
In Super Mario 64, the Power Star is behind some iron bars, which can only be removed by Ground Pounding the peg that the Chain Chomp's chain is attached to three times. This frees the Chain Chomp, letting it break the bars and escape. The star in Super Mario 64 DS is located in the same place and can be collected in the same way, but there are several alternatives to getting this star. This includes using Vanish Luigi to phase through the bars, ground-pounding the peg a single time as Wario, or collecting the star during 5 Silver Stars! using Vanish Luigi when the Chain Chomp relocates to the adjacent field.
In Super Mario 64, it is possible to use the bob-omb located near the Chain Chomp by throwing him up and regrab him when his body grows bigger. Face away from the gate and if you time your throw just right, you'll clip though the door

Trivia
- In Super Mario 64, a higher jump is required to collect the star, since it is too high to collect with a normal one; in Super Mario 64 DS, this has been changed so that a normal jump can be used.
