Frog Pirate

Frog Pirates, though not pirates, are a species of frogs. They live in the swamps and wetlands on Yoshi's Island in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. If a Yoshi comes too close to one, it will lash out it's tongue and steal Baby Mario. Stepping on its head only disables it for a moment, instead, Yoshi should throw an Egg or eat the frog.
The World 3 mid-boss Prince Froggy, swallows a Yoshi whole. He's the only major Frog Pirate known.
In Yoshi's Island DS, there are creatures that are reminiscent of Frog Pirates, but look and act differently. They are called Fleepers.
It is fully unknown that why their breed is being called as "Frog Pirates", but it might be due to the fact that they seem to like stealing things.
