There are also Gold Stars in Super Mario World (which bring you to the Bonus Game once you collected 100 of them). Should this info go into this article, or is a separate article better? / Time Q 07:54, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

So I looked at my manual, and it said Gold Stars. However, I knew I heard the term "Bonus Star" somewhere.....and it hit me. World 1-4 Message Block. I checked this morning. The Block calls the stars "Bonus Stars". Info from games takes priority over that from manuals and guides, so that is the name we will use. However, I will state on the top of this page that you may be looking for the other article. -- Son of Suns
