A trophy, won in a Trophy Race

A Trophy Race (also called a Trophy Challenge) is a challenge in the game, Diddy Kong Racing and its remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. After beating a world in Diddy Kong Racing, the player may do the challenge. Like in the Grand Prix mode from the Mario Kart series, the player must race in four different courses. After playing in one, the player will get a certain amount of points depending on their placing. The player with the most points wins. However, it is important to point out that the player can't restart a track that they doing poorly in; they must do the whole Trophy Race all over again if that's the case.

If the player wins, they will be awarded with a golden trophy with Wizpig on top. There are five Trophy Races in all; the fifth one is accessible once the player wins the second Wizpig race. The silver and bronze trophies have a statue of Taj on them.

In Diddy Kong Racing DS, instead of winning a Wizpig trophy every time, the player will get different themed trophies depending on what world they are in.
