- Super Mario Odyssey was updated on February 21, 2018, which added the multiplayer online mode Balloon World to the game, along with new costumes and Snapshot Mode filters.
- During Nintendo's financial briefing on January 31, 2018, a new mobile installment of the Mario Kart series, Mario Kart Tour (pictured), was announced, which will be released during the next fiscal year (ending March 2019). Additionally, Nintendo confirmed a partnership with Illumination Entertainment to work on a new Mario animated film, co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri (founder and CEO of Illumination Entertainment).
- Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was released in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong on January 18, 2018.
- During the latest Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Mario Tennis Aces was announced for the Nintendo Switch and set for release in spring 2018. Super Mario Odyssey will feature a new mode, "Balloon World", featuring Luigi in February 2018. In the upcoming DLC update for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Donkey Kong will be included as a playable character in spring 2018. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be released on May 3, 2018 on the Nintendo Switch and will feature Funky Kong as a playable character.
