Gabon

A Gabon is a small, Clubba-like enemy from Yoshi's Story. It may be a sub-species of Spike, the other Clubba-like enemies from Super Mario Bros. 3.
Gabons appear in the level Jungle Hut on Page 4. They regurgitate spike balls (much like Spike) and roll them down hills. The Yoshis may eat them, but Green Yoshi likes them best.
According to the reading after you beat the level, there's apparently one and it owns the hut and threw stuff at Yoshi. It also doesn't state that he was ever eaten or killed by Yoshi so it assumable that he's still alive.

Trivia
- "Gabon" is also the name of an African country, which is fitting for these creatures because they're in a jungle-like area. However, it is unlikely that Gabons were named after this country, as "Gabon" also happens to be the name of the aforementioned Spike creatures (which they are very similar to) in Japan.
