Starkisses are a type of starfish which are fought during Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They are orange and are capable of standing upright. Starkisses are found in the Oho Ocean Seabed. They attack by blowing a kiss at Mario and Luigi, which takes the form of a small heart. If a Starkiss folds its arms and head inward before performing this attack, it is targeting Luigi; if not, the victim is Mario. The heart travels slowly toward either brother, its path curving along the way. Mario and Luigi must Jump on it to counter the attack. If hit, the brother takes minimal damage, but there is a small chance the kiss will poison the target or affect his attack power, defense, or speed.

In Gwarhar Lagoon, after Mario and Luigi defeat Hermie III and take the Beanstar, they encounter a friendly purple Starkiss named Spangle. Spangle requests them to find him a stage to perform on. Mario and Luigi gives Spangle to Hermie III in place of the Beanstar they have taken, and Hermie III, grateful, rewards them with a Soulful Bros. Badge.
