Cosmic Slalom

Template:Minigame-infobox Cosmic Slalom is a Duel Minigame in Mario Party 8. It is similar to Motor Rooter from Mario Party 3.

Introduction

The first player appears sitting inside a hovercraft inside a large tube. The screen splits to reveal the other player sitting inside their hovercraft, and the minigame begins.

Gameplay

The goal of the minigame is to race through the slalom course racing tube as quickly as possible, without running into electric fences, which causes players to spin out and wastes time. To temporarily pick up speed, the player can use a speed boost, which also allows them to quickly blast right through the fences with no effect. However, the speed boost can only be used a total of three times.

Ending

The winning player performs their victory pose inside their hovercraft and then jets away out of sight. The losing player is not shown, unless the losing player was close to the winning player when the game ended.

• Rules – "Speed through the racing tube to reach the finish first!"
• Hint – "When boosting, you'll not only pick up speed but also blast through obstacles. You can boost only three times."

• The minigame is very similar to the special stages in Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
