List of unreleased media

Vaporware is a term for games that are announced on which development is started but, for a possible variety of reasons, were never published. Following is a list of Mario vaporware.

• Super Mario's Wacky Worlds, possibly canceled due to hardware limitations – CD-i
• Super Mario FX, an early attempt at a 3D Mario game canceled due to system limitations – Super Nintendo
• VB Mario Land, which was not completed before the Virtual Boy failed – Virtual Boy
• Super Mario 64 2, which was never shown but may have led to Super Mario 128 – Nintendo 64
• Super Mario 128, an experimental demo, of which some elements were used in Super Mario Galaxy. More dramatically, it served as a basis for the game Pikmin. – Gamecube
