About The 'Shroom

The 'Shroom is the community-written and edited monthly newsletter of the Super Mario Wiki devoted to delivering the latest Wiki and community news and entertainment to members and readers of the website alike, currently on its sixth year of operation. Beginning as a small community portal in 2006 founded by Sadaharu (talk), the project took off in 2007 under the direction of Wayoshi (talk), quickly building up an assortment of eager writers, and today continues to have a large, thriving team of contributors and a devoted reader base keeping the project more active than ever. As well as covering the latest news and statistics relating to the Super Mario Wiki and its surrounding community, the newsletter offers a broad range of entertainment-based sections such as humourous fake Mario stories, games and activities, multimedia, and detailed review and opinion sections.

The newsletter is managed primarily by the 'Shroom Director, who is elected to the position by the readers at the end of every year during the Director Election; once elected, they choose trustworthy and capable users to join the 'Shroom Core Staff, who manage different aspects of the newsletter and offer support for the director and sub-director. A full list of Core Staff positions, as well as the means to contact the current staff members, can be found on our contacts page; the newsletter's current directors are Super Mario Bros. (talk) and Henry Tucayo Clay (talk).

The 'Shroom has a strong community focus, designed to convenience its writers and readers alike in the most efficient and comfortable way possible. As such, we encourage anyone with comments, suggestions, and ideas to express their thoughts on our talk page; or to those interested in joining the writing staff, we encourage them to apply for any vacant section listed on our sign up page. Our 'Shroom Spotlight project can help newer contributors of the Super Mario Wiki narrow their focus for a good start, get them experience in how to contribute to the website, and get themselves noticed in the community.

Thank you so much for reading our newsletter!
