Kirby enjoys some wonderful food.

Food can be found in Super Smash Bros. Melee. They heal the player. They can be retrieved from Crates, Capsules, and other similar containers, most notably Party Balls. There is a 36% chance of food coming out of a Party Ball.

Food seem to be two-dimensional. Each piece heals significant amounts of damage; a cup of coffee may heal two HP while a meatloaf may heal nine. There is one food item, a rice treat, which had confused players what it was. This treat appeared in the Pokémon television series. Also, many of the foods are from the Kirby series, and one food (the Banana Bunch) appears in the Donkey Kong series). Finally, by a sheer coincidence, cheese happens to have appeared in a handful of Mario games.
