Dune Buds manipulate the ground to rise up and form a temporary sand hill when it is touched by water. They appear in Super Mario Sunshine, on Gelato Beach. Spray them until they turn orange, and they'll pop up hurting any Cataquacks in the area. It also hurts the giant green Wiggler boss.
Several Dune Buds can form pits that hide Red, Blue Coins, or Shine Sprites.
