As an egg, YellowYoshi1 and other Yoshis were captured by Morton Koopa Jr. and hidden in a ? block in level 6-4. Fortuanately, YellowYoshi1 was rescued by Mario and helped him travel through World 6. However, YellowYoshi1 chose to stay in World 6 with his friends instead of traveling with Mario to World 7. After Mario left, YellowYoshi1 was attacked and captured by a group of Monty Moles. On his way to Bowser's Castle after being defeated by Mario, Lemmy Koopa traveled through World 6 and rescued YellowYoshi1. After that, YellowYoshi1 and Lemmy Koopa became good friends.
