Template:Infobox Mario Golf: World Tour is an upcoming sport title for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the fifth installment of the Mario Golf series, and it has been announced that the game will feature gyroscope support. The game will also feature Wi-Fi capabilities.[1]
Gameplay
Not much is known about the game's gameplay, although similar HUD features such as impact zone and a power bar return from past Mario Golf games. Wind has also been confirmed, but with a cloud instead of the usual Boo.[2] A Bob-omb has also appeared when characters strike the ball[3], though not much is known about it, except that it looks like a form of power shot. It has also been confirmed that a Mii costume feature will be in the game, much like in Mario Tennis Open.[2] A new mechanic feature called Item Shots allows players to shoot golf balls with different shot effects, such as increasing drive distance with a Fire Flower and creating Jump Blocks over water hazards.[4]
Multiplayer
This game will feature many types of multiplayer. Local play is available for up to four players, but it does not support download play. There will also be online play, in which communities can be created, similar to those in Mario Kart 7, or players can be matched with opponents of a similar skill level, like in Mario Tennis Open. During multiplayer, all players can play at the same time, which will speed up playing significantly because players do not have to wait until it is their turn to play. Different expressions can be tapped on the touch screen, which will be shared with opponents.Template:Refneeded
