• Super Mario Kart has been confirmed to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console in Europe and Australia on March 27 and 28, 2014 respectively.
• Mario Pinball Land has been announced to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console.
• The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service will be shut down on May 20, 2014. The discontinued services include online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games.
• Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (pictured) was released in North America and Europe on Febuary 21, 2014 and in Australia on Febuary 22, 2014.
• In the latest Nintendo Direct, Mario Golf: World Tour has been announced to be released on May 2 in both Europe and North America. The Koopalings have been revealed as playable characters in Mario Kart 8, which has been announced to be released on May 30 in Europe and North America, and on May 29 in Japan. NES Remix 2 was also announced to be released on the Wii U Nintendo eShop on April 25. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 were also among the first Game Boy Advance games announced to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console in spring 2014.
