Template:Justreleased Template:Infobox Dr. Luigi, known in Japan as Dr. Luigi & Virus Buster (Japanese: ドクタールイジ·ウイルスバスター Dokutā Ruiji & Uirusu Basutā) is an upcoming title in the Dr. Mario series. The game will be released exclusively for Nintendo eShop on Wii U as part of the Year of Luigi. As the title suggests, the game stars Luigi in a game very similar to Dr. Mario.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very similar to original Dr. Mario games. Players must eliminate viruses by stacking Megavitamins on them and ultimately creating a row of four or more of the same color. In this game, however, there is a new game mode named Operation L, which involves stacking multicolored L-shaped pills in reference to Luigi.

Combos are altered in this game. In Dr. Mario, when a player gains a combo, the opponent will receive two half-Megavitamins to stall progress. In Operation L, when a player gains a combo, the opposing player's upcoming Megavitamin will have its colors switched.

Game Modes

  • Retro Remedy: This mode is basically the same as the original Dr. Mario. Use capsules to beat the virus. To beat a level, the player need kill all virus in the bottle, using 3 capsules or more in a same line of same color to kill the virus.
  • Operation L: The main game mode of the game. In this mode, the player only uses special capsules similar to the letter L to beat the virus in the bottle.
  • Germ Buster: This game mode is similar to Retro Remedy mode, but with touch-screen controls in Wii U Game Pad.
  • Online Battle: In this mode, the player can match a battle with friends or other Wii U users around the world.
